Here at Wholesale Clearance, we have seen an increase in people buying wholesale items to sell on the side for a bit of extra money. So that got us thinking, where in the UK is this entrepreneurship happening the most?<\/p>\n
We analysed Google Search data from the beginning of March to the latest available date of the top 25 most populated cities to find out. The money-making schemes analysed included becoming an influencer, completing surveys, trading stocks, and data entry just to name a few.<\/p>\n
These were the top 10 cities most interested in side hustles:

\n8.\tNorthampton

Surprisingly, none of the major cities such as London, Birmingham, or Liverpool feature in the top 10 list. In turns out, Newcastle upon Tyne comes out on top as the most obsessed with hustling on the side. This could be largely due to the city reportedly pulling lucrative fees for their Instagram Posts worth up to \u00a36,508.<\/p>\n
Right behind Newcastle was the up-and-coming city of Reading, with Brighton coming in at 3rd. Reading top the table for searches including \u2018selling second-hand items\u2019, \u2018babysitting\/housesitting\u2019 and \u2018Deliveroo jobs\u2019. While the artisan capital of England, Brighton lead the way for \u2018renting parking spaces\u2019.<\/p>\n
Down at the lower end, the nation\u2019s Capital, London, were revealed to be least likely to search for side hustle opportunities \u2013 perhaps the everyday hustle and bustle of London life proving enough for most people. Other major cities Cardiff and Birmingham rounded off the bottom three, with very little hustling on their minds.<\/p>\n
The increased time at home has given many people the opportunity to clear out old belongings or take time to learn different techniques needed to make money. Whether it is selling old clothes or learning the stock market, people\u2019s interest in making money on the side has never been greater than it is right now.<\/p>\n
